I've always liked the way Wolf Kahn approaches nature in his art with strong composition and bold, expressionistic colors. This painting was inspired by his style. I typically work from photos, but this time, it was pure imagination. I saw the angle of the light in my head and made the highlights and shadows from that. Purple highlights and white tree trunks. There really wasn't much challenge other than getting started; it flowed out without any problems. I think the energy of that session still pulses in the final work. Add a bold hit of color and style to your room and see what I mean.
